The Faculty in its modern form and composition, namely the Faculty of Transport, Management and Logistics, was established by order of the Rector dated 20.12.2018 for № 625 / unit. But this is not the initial stage of development, but a logical continuation of the long history of changes and transformations that have taken place in accordance with the changing public demand for future professionals.
On April 18, 1971, by order of the Minister of Civil Aviation of the USSR, the Faculty of Engineering and Economics (FEE) was opened at the Kyiv Institute of Civil Aviation Engineers. In 1987, the FEE was renamed to the Faculty of Aviation Works and Transportation (FAWT), and in 1993 - the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM).
In July 2001, the FEM was divided into the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Organization and Management (FOM). Since May 2002, FOM has been renamed the Faculty of Management and Logistics (FML). Subsequently, the faculty was reorganized several times: in 2006 it was separated from it, and then in 2006 the Faculty of Aviation Transport Technologies (FTT) was added to it.
The Faculty of Management and Logistics had six departments: management of foreign economic activity of enterprises, logistics, economic theory, higher mathematics, organization of air transportation, organization of aviation works and services and trained specialists of different educational and qualification levels: bachelors, masters, specialists in the field management and organization of activities of air transport and other sectors of the economy, as well as management of financial, transport and logistical resources in the areas of training 6.030601 "Management" and 6.070101 "Transport technologies (by mode of transport)".
By the Rector's order of February 7, 2003, the Institute of Economics and Management (IEM) was established within №17 as a part of the Faculty of Economics and Entrepreneurship (FEE) and the Faculty of Management and Logistics (FML). The institute was headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor V. Shchelkunov., from 29.05.2009. until 2016 - Ph.D., Professor V. Matveev., and then until 10.2017. - Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Petrovska O.M.
For some time, all departments of economics and management were subordinated to the IEM administration and in October 2017, as a result of the reorganization of the Institute of Economics and Management, faculties were re-established, including the Faculty of Management and Logistics.
The modern history of the Faculty of Transport, Management and Logistics began on December 20, 2018. Until November 2020, it was headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor Ilyenko O.V., and since November the faculty is headed by Doctor of Economics, Professor Mostenska T.L.
